IRA Charitable Rollover

Give the Gift of Sight – provide ophthalmologic surgery for someone facing imminent blindness.

As the holiday season approaches, you may be wondering how you can support the causes and organizations you care about. Consider making a gift from your IRA to the Surgical Eye Care Foundation of Memphis in Tennessee to reach your charitable giving goals. With your help, we can continue to improve the lives of others in our footprint.

The Details:

  • You must be 70½ or older.
  • You may transfer up to $100,000 from your IRA directly to the Surgical Eye Care Foundation.
  • If you have not yet taken your required minimum distribution for 2018, your gift can satisfy all or part of that requirement.
  • You pay no income tax on the gift. The transfer generates neither taxable income nor a tax deduction, so you benefit even if you do not itemize your tax deductions.

Time Is Running Out-Act Now!
To help ensure that your gift counts this year, transfers will need to be made by Dec. 31, 2018 (the last business day of the year).
